Recipe: Signature Blend Mexican Salsa

When you’re looking for a quick and easy accompaniment for your Mexican inspired dinners, this salsa really is a winner! The Chilli Project Signature Blend Hot Sauce has the base flavours of tomato and capsicum which pair wonderfully with the fresh tomato, onion and coriander.

Ingredients

1 red onion, finely diced

Juice of 1 lime

8 ripe but firm tomatoes

2 tbsp The Chilli Project Signature Blend Hot Sauce

½ bunch fresh coriander, finely chopped

Salt

Method

  1. Combine onion and lime juice in a bowl and allow to sit for 10 minutes (this will soften the onion)
  2. Dice tomatoes then add them to the onion mix along with coriander and Signature Blend Hot Sauce. Fold gently until well combined.
  3. Season to taste with salt and serve!

Notes

*This salsa is delicious as a side with fish, chicken, pork or even on its own with some corn chips. It also makes a great addition to any type of taco

*For spicier twist, add some finely chopped green Jalapeños to the onions in Step 1, or substitute the sauce for Signature Blend Very Hot Sauce or Signature Blend Extreme Hot Sauce.

*For the coriander haters out there, you could substitute flat leaf parsley for a more Mediterranean taste!
