You may have seen the TikTok trend last year that involved baking feta and tomatoes and tossing them through pasta. I can confirm that it is delicious, but I have found a way to make it even better with some simple additions – tuna and hot sauce!
This is one of the easiest mid-week meals you can have on the table in 40 minutes, and you can adjust the hot sauce heat level to your liking!
Baked Feta, Tomato and Tuna Pasta
Serves 4
Ingredients
400g pasta of your choice (I recommend penne rigate or fusilli as they hold the sauce well)
1 block (approx. 200g) feta cheese
A handful of basil leaves
1/2 cup olive oil
500g (2 punnets) cherry or grape tomatoes
1 zucchini, diced (optional but I’m a big fan of the extra veges)
½ tsp dried oregano
3 whole cloves of garlic
2 tablespoons The Chilli Project Signature Blend Hot Sauce (I use medium heat as my kids love it)
185g tin tuna, oil drained and flaked
Salt & pepper to taste
Method
1.Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced.
2.Place the whole block of feta in the middle of a large baking dish and surround with tomatoes, zucchini and garlic. 3.Drizzle with oil, sprinkle with oregano and salt and pepper to taste. Bake for 30 minutes or until the feta starts to brown, the tomatoes have wilted, and the garlic cloves are soft.
4.Meanwhile cook pasta in boiling water according to packet instructions.
5,Remove tray from oven. Using a fork, crush feta, garlic (remove skins), and tomatoes. Add drained pasta to tray along with the Signature Blend Hot Sauce and flaked tuna, then toss to combine. Scatter over basil leaves and serve.
